Village farm is a certified organic livestock farm.  We have Ruby Red cattle, a native Devon breed, & Easycare sheep grazing all year round over the 220 acres of coastal grassland. With a mild climate, free draining land & herbal pastures that grow throughout the year, our livestock live outside in all seasons. This environment allows them to remain healthy & free. The fam is a lattice of traditional devon banks & hedgerows, some dating back hundreds of years. These & the areas of woodland are natural shelters from the worst of the weather & are rich wildlife havens

As a working farm we sell store cattle, sheep & pigs to a private butchery, some of which are sold in the organic farm shop & through the farm cafe. Due to the breeds, quality of the pastures & the coastal conditions the meat is fantastic. We are supplement free & our focus is to allow nature to rear each animal.  A happy animal kept to a high standard of welfare is the most productive. The rare breed pigs & poultry also reared on Village Farm are a perfect compliment to the closed system we try to achieve from complete sustainability.

Overlooking the Salcombe Estuary, every field provides breathtaking views towards the ever-changing moods of Dartmoor to the north & open seas to the south, we feel very fortunate to be here.

Guided walks & educational visits

We will soon offer guided walks & educational visits. These will be bookable through this website.  We would love to show you the value of traditional farming systems, soils rich in microbiology & organic matter, & the wildlife & environmental benefits of organic farming.  Come see the views & listen to the skylarks, blackbirds & the cry of the buzzards. To further your experience round it off by sampling organic homemade fare in the cafe & farm shop.
